    Gardening Woe's....

Got up at 5 AM this morning and hit the father in laws Green bean patch. By 11:00 am we had picked 12 bushels of Green beans. Two of us picking and washing them. Half of them are Contenders (round regular green beans) and the other half are Roma's (broad flat green beans) all in the light rain mostly so not too hot and not too uncomfortable. The ladies had the pressure cookers running and snapped em from then and up until after 6 PM this evening. So far they got over 100 quarts finished. We will probably come close to 200 quart jars when we done with what we need and we only picked two rull rows out of FIVE!!!!! However we are NOT picking anymore.... Anyone want some beans? COME PICK EM!!!!!

Tomato's and Okra coming next it appears. A few weeks off... Ahhhh.... Summer in the Southlands!!!!

I agree to some extent except an occasional fried or a bit of it in a good spicy Gumbo dish... well I can dig it a bit then. Not much of it though.

But Home grown Tomato's and Green Beans..... They gonna be GOOD this winter!!!!
