I am looking at getting an ipod. I basically want it to store all my music on. It would be nice to have it in my car as well. I was wondering if the mini is good enough. Do any of the Ipods have color screens? I am really looking into getting one just not sure what one and the differences in the generations. I need one for a Windows. I was looking at Ipod minis for 250 or 10gb ipods for 275 used.
Another IPOD thread lol

Minis only hold 4gigs, so 1k songs? For 50 more you can get the 15gb and get almost 4 times the amount of songs. 15gb's are going for 300 new at retail stores. -
to be perfectly honest with you, the ipod mini is a big ripoff. think about it. you could either pay $250 for 4 gb of storage, or $300 for 15 gb of storage. thats 50 bucks more for more than 3 times the storage space. if you are intent on going with something thats small and comes in cute colors, then by all means go for the mini. otherwise, go for a new 15 gb for $300. or, do what i did and go with the 20 gb instead. for $100 more, you get a dock, headphone remote, and case. to buy all that stuff seperately would cost you around $130.Originally posted by paintballrulzsI am looking at getting an ipod. I was leaning towards the 15 gb one but my mom suggested the mini. What does the dock actually do? Is it neccessary>

basically, what the dock does is stand your ipod up. functionally, it serves no greater purpose than the charge/transfer cable.Originally posted by paintballrulzsI was leaning towards the 15 gb one but my mom suggested the mini. What does the dock actually do? Is it neccessary>

all it does is stand your ipod and make it look cool. but its better than having it slide around your desk and get scratched!TONIGHT WE DANCE FOR TOMORROW THEY RELEASE THE DOGS

How long does it take to transfer each song over to the ipod.

it doesnt really matter whether you use firewire or usb 2.0. both will transfer at about 400 mbps, so expect a lot of songs per second.Originally posted by paintballrulzsAlright thanks for the advice I think I will just get the 15 gb one at compusa for 300 bucks. I dont really need the dock.
