    Beasty Boys virus?

Don't know if anyone has seen this yet. I'm completely against illegal downloading, but this is NOT the way to stop it. If true, I'll lose a lot of respect for everyone involved.

The infected CD is being distributed worldwide except in the USA and UK.

The ones here in the US have a thing that pop-up and say you need to install a 'driver' to listen to the cd. All you have to do is hold shift when you put the cd in and you're good to go.

i support it, i know, two wrongs don't make a right, but it would piss em off if i produced something (ie artwork) and it was copied and distributed for free, destroying my profits, i think people who download deserve it.

I could be wrong but I dont think this applies to people downloading the music. It sounds like it just prevents people from copying the music to another CD. And the Beastie boys didnt put it there, its Capitol Records who did.

Agreed. Just cause you can doesn't mean you should (download illegally). Burning from CD to CD-R is something else. Reason being I like to through together compilations of songs I already own (bought) and also save my originals and use my burned versions if it's in my car.

Tell Your Congressperson to support H.R.107

It's stuff like this that makes me quite angry. But then again, it doesn't really effect me since I don't run Microshaft products, nor do I have a Mac.

But in any case, tell your Congressperson to support H.R.107

                            H.R. 107 does the following:

To amend the Federal Trade Commission Act to provide that the advertising or sale of a mislabeled copy-protected music disc is an unfair method of competition and an unfair and deceptive act or practice, and for other purposes.

Additional info about tech companies in support of this bill.

I'm not under the alkafluence of inkahol that some thinkle peep I am. It's just the drunker I sit here the longer I get...
