michael moore is a brilliant man. you will call him a big fat idiot. when he is very intellectual. as for calling him fat so is 60% of the rest of america and probably quite a few of you who will call him fat arent exactly in your prime. I saw f.9/11 and it was incredibly well done. and this was said before which was well put all you people who saw "give me his address we will go beat him up" you never have looked more like such idiots. ur basically resorting to violence because you dont like what someone said. and you all know none of you would EVER launch a physical attack against him. That guy is awful! I'll tell you what pisses me off the most. I was in europe for a while last year, and it seemed as if so many europeans read his books like "stupid white men" and watched "bowling for columbine". They seriously took what he said as fact, and that led them to believe that america is essentially a horrible place full of idiots. I hate the man with a passion.

How about... the title? "Bowling for Columbine" references how the killers were so nonchalant about what they were going to do that they even went to their early morning bowling class -- and then went and shot the school up.

Except that this is a lie. They skipped that class.

How about the scene where he walks into the bank, opens a bank account to get a free rifle, and has them hand him the rifle in the bank, and then asks, "isn't it a bad idea to hand people guns in a bank?"

It is. That is why they don't do it. The bank (stupidly) staged it at his request. They don't "hand people guns" -- they hand them certificates that they take down to the local gun store, pass their background checks, and then get the gun. In a gun store.

How about where he has an entire sequence about how these boys live right next to a Lockheed plant where they make nuclear missiles? It you raise kids right next to a nuclear weapon plant, shouldn't you expect them to be violent?

Except that this is a lie. They don't make weapons at that plant. They make rockets that launch communication sattelites.

There's lots more. Those are just the big ones off the top of my head.

I always took his work not as the truth, but to get you thinking. It seems people in America would rather just listen to someone else than think on their own.
