Why don't regular american people speak out against this?

EAGLESWOOD TOWNSHIP, New Jersey (AP) -- The recent beheadings of two Americans in the Middle East have added fuel to the angry backlash against Arab-Americans and Muslims that began after the 2001 terrorist attacks.

The murders of Paul Johnson and Nicholas Berg triggered hate mail, verbal attacks and anti-Muslim signs. Muslims received death threats and their mosques were vandalized.

Someone explain to me how vandelizing mosques and attacking Arab-Americans is helping our war on terror and isn't hurting our relations with arabs...

It is a bunh of hurt and angry people lashing out. There is no justification, but then again, there was no justification foor beheading Berg and Johnson either? Was there?

It is called backlash and you are smart enough to know that! It is not rational or correct, but in human nature.

I guess ppl don't understand that the terrorists aren't really muslims. They are just using it so that actually muslims witll support them and so they can call it a holy war. Can't a war a holy war without religion now can we? So that gets me to my second questions how stupid do muslims have to be to support these obvious phoneys? I think the reason they are so gullible has more to do with the poverty and environment they live in, not the fact that they are Muslim. Also, I don't think any of us really have any say in what a real "Muslim" is.

My best friend is a muslim and i swear if someone does something to him/his family.... Ok i might not really do anything but ill really want to.

I have several Muslim friends. One of them is from Turkey. Most of them are tremendously supportive of whats going on over their now. Some of them staunch GW supporters too! Supprisingly enough eh? Most of them appaled at terrorists claiming to be Muslims but acting not as such. All the ones I know appreciate people recognizing that its not "Muslim" to do what these terrorists are doing in thier name and wish they would stop. Or convert!

I have several friends who are Muslim and have stood up for them. What I'm waiting for is some regular arab people to speak out against the beheadings. The whole world condemns it but I never see a quote. Not saying they support it, mind you...I'm just saying....

It dosent. Why do you think that regular americans arent appauled about this? It is wrong and is a view that is NOT shared by the majority of americans.

There's always going to be a few bad apples in every bunch.

But our few bad apples send nasty e-mails and call Arabs bad names.

Their bad apples blow up buildings and saw the heads off of people.
