    Directly connecting two computers?

    I have two computers that I want to connect, we have a serial cable connecting both but im kinda stuck. Anybody ever do it before?

    You need a nic card in both, then use a cross over cat 5 rj45 cable.

    That will make them networked and they should be able to see or talk to each other.

    What OS is on them?

    Add.......could just use a router to

      If you want to do it through the serial ports... (wow, it's been a LONG time since I've done that...) I recall you can't do it with a standard serial cable, and you need a NULL MODEM CABLE instead.

      That's really slow though.

      If they both have USB there is a kit you can buy that will network them through their USB jacks.

      If they both have Network cards the easiest thing to do is pick yourself up a CROSSOVER ETHERNET CABLE (what the previous poster is talking about) and they should see each other over the network.
