City Of Heroes Question

just wondering about something, my mom is going to pick up this game for me today (she took my car for work, since she is getting a new one and doesnt have it yet so dont make fun of me ) and i was wondering how well it would run on my computer, its a 1.5ghz p4, with geforce5600fx (i know its not the best card but it was cheap, and better than the geforce 2 i used to have lol) and 512 ram, the reason i ask is even though it is better than the minimum requirements, it is also better than the ones for swg and ff11 and after a large patch in both games that came out at about the same time, they basically stopped working (i was getting massive lag spikes in both games, and in half life which went away after a while) my guess is that the processor is some how getting "overloaded" so to speak and that is whats making the lag because i never had a problem with lag in downloading things or going on forums, etc.


and also do you think i should make a Fallout character (like the Vault Dweller, or my name in everything except here for some reason FalloutMan) or War Machine (basically a blue version of ironman, thanks miscue for telling me that in the original thread lol), and what server do you guys play on currently, or should i say who still plays it in general lol?

I know I still play it like every day, running about 4 characters regularly. Albinonewt still plays too. The character i'm running every day is named Barrel Plug (her name WAS Barrel Condom but NCSoft disabeled my account due to the word condom and made me change it). Most if not all of the AOers playing use Victory Server, so be sure to sign up on that and add me to your friends list. I have some low level chars just sitting that I could help you level with if you want.

Oh and your computer should be fine to run it. The game runs incredibly smooth for a first launch game. Although lately they have been having issues with people losing connection every once and a while. Happened to me a few times but no big deal.

If you do have problems with running the program (lag, disconnecting when entering buildings, etc), you can always turn down some of your video settings. Turning Shadows off really helped me out in this regard. BTW, I'm on Victory server as well, with a level 14 electrical blaster called Shock Troop.

I just started playing last weekend and am still in the early stages. I've got a lvl12 controller and a lvl8 Tanker on the Victory Server, Struck. Game is fun as hell, the city of villians update looks like it's gonna be great.

what is your setup, my game is running surprisingly well with the settings jacked up a little bit, so your computer might be able to handle it on a smaller resolution or toned down settings or something

Well considering I can't have video's on Starcraft cause it'll slow the game tremendously will tell ya that it's old and slow. By the way PS2's are more advanced then my computer. My computer is a 133 mhz Pentium 1 (Don't laugh it WAS top technology at the time I got it *96ish*)
