I believe the reason why he took off the mask on the train fight was because when he went to check out the damaged control panel, a part of it flew up and hit him on the face...it almost looked like it was on fire for a quick moment. It happened so fast it was really hard to tell.

I know. A spark hit the lense in his mask, I just question why Raimi felt it was necessary for PP to reveal his identity. That is his most closely guarded and protected secret in the comic books.

i remember seeing something hit him in the face and he ripped his mask off in a big hurry. i just didnt know why it was so effed up that he had to take it off but 5 minutes later was fine to wear again. i guess if there was a spark of some kind that lit a small fire i could understand that, but i just didnt see that.

As far as the mask is concerned, I remember seeing it kinda catch on fire in the cinging kind of way so he took it off so it wouldn't burn his face. I do remember seeing sparks on his face.

Overall, the movie was great. I just hope that the next one has Venom, but I don't see it happening. Most likely it will be a Dr. Connors/The Lizard and Green Goblin II, with a likely cliffhanger for the Venom storyline.
