I used to smoke a cigar from time to time back when we had a shop in town....BACCARATS (not sure of the spelling) are Excellent and my all time fav., and from what your saying you'd like in a cigar it may be right up your alley. And if ya don't like it you only lose out on like 4 or 5 bucks.

I'll second that and toss another suggestion in. H Uppmans are really good, if you like a long slow smoke, if you go with a Monte Cristo, I suggest the platniums. Or for a sweeter smoke you may want to try the La Divas conac cured cigars, not overly powerful, but not too mild either. The ones I listed above are are anywhere from 6 to 8 per smoke. So if price may be a concern Flor De Olivia makes a very nice in expensive cigar for about 2 bucks a stick, and one of my personal inexpensive favorites is National. It's a Cuban seed tobacco with a Connecuit wrapper that really has a good flavor to it for about the same price that suprised me. It's also very smooth and consistent through out which is hard to find in a cigar for under $4.
Anyway welcome to the fine world cigars, and keep a few things in mind when smoking:
                1) the hotter and faster you light the cigar the better it's going to smoke for your
                2) use a high quality lighter and fluid so you don't get a nasty aftertaste
                3) bigger the cut off the tip, the easier the draw
                Most importantly
                4) be considerate of others who may not appreciate the aroma of a good cigar.

It's just weird to me to hear that someone's parents bought them cigars after graduation. Probably just different culters/traditions.

It's not that strange....In fact on my 21st birthday my parents took me to a bar - got drunk, then off to a casino - bought me birthday shots, few beers, then lost my money, then to another bar - got a few pitchers and ate some wings.

                  it was great

I like CUESTA REY Captivas and Aristocrats and these things I picked up in Mexico,Bolivar, they are made on some small island country just past the Fl. Keys. There are those Iguanas by the Thompson cigar co. they got a web site.

                          - bringing this back up
how much do that fuentes black labels run at?
I had a helix the other night and a macbeth green label something or other tonight.
Helix burns real long and pretty hot and its real strong.
the one i had tonight was great at the end.

                          .. i love those things

black ringed fuentes range in price depending on size shape and line. Oh and highly dependant on the store ya go though. But expect 4 to 8 a stick retail easy.
