Since when do blackbirds attack hawks???

So I was driving on a gravel road today sprying thistles next to one of our fields, and I look up to see a hawk gliding, and a bird (maybe it wasn't a blackbird, but it was dark colored) attacking it! It must not have hurt, because the hawk just ignored it, but the thing kept swooping down and hitting the hawks back. It was something I never would expect to see. The hawk was 4 times its size. The bird finally gave up and flew onto a telephone line, and the hawk just kept gliding. Wierd. Well, that's my stupid thread for the month. Enjoy.

*And does anybody have a feasable explanation for this?

    War is peace

    Freedom is slavery

    Ignorance is strength

All the time. Natural instinct as they are natural preditors of Crows and blackbirds babies. They hate owls too

Crow hunters (yes there are such) use owl or hawk Decoys to attract Crows.

Happens all the time over here. Usually its a couple of crows(or Grackels or whatev) but those things are pretty nasty. When i used to work guest services at the golf course, these birds would dive bomb anybody that got anywhere near the tree where their nest was. And i dont mean one little crow, im talkin a couple of the big ones. Like small chickens, and they fly right past your head.

But theyre smart too. They never fly at you from the front, always from behind. So i got tired of it and brought a tennis racket to work and picked one off and they left me alone

Saw it the other day, one little thing attacking 4 hawks and they just ignored it.

It's fun to watch that sometimes. I've seen 2 or 3 Mocking Birds (highly territorial) attack a Red Tailed or Turkey Vulture around here. They all do that swooping attack thing.

One night I was driving on a fairly secluded road by my house. On the left side of the road were really tall trees on a hill. All of a sudden I see what I thot was a very large bird swooping down out of the trees. I started to watch the Bird and realized it was an owl. This owl swooped down so fast before I knew it was right in front of my bumper of my car and I hit it and ran it over before I could even react. I never expected the owl to come that close to the ground.

Ummm... Wha? First off, people talk about being high and drunk all the time on here, and the other word I used is one you can hear walking for about 5 minutes in a populated area or on TV, and it is known that the word has evolved into a socially acceptable word that really has no racist meaning to it. Just because it sounds like another word, doesn't mean it has the same meaning. I say that word around a big bunch of gangster black guys and girls, and I'm a white skater guy, and they call me it right back, and I barely know half of them. It is ignorant to refuse to see that the word has changed and no longer means something offensive. And my post was not worthless becuase I had something similar to the poster's story to say. You just having a bad day Phill? Because I feel that the whole rehab and racial counciling was uncalled for. First off, I just quit smoking and drinking, and calling me racist is very ignorant considering you don't know me personaly and to clarify, I do have many black friends, one of my best friends is black, and I am racist in a humerous way, and against anyone. If your wondering what that means. I will stereotype any race, for a joke, even my own races. But I will not be discriminate against these people, nor do I have any form of hate for them.
