Looking into getting an ipod, but now might want this

I was curious if any of you guys have one or have experience with one. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...707811873&rd=1

I played with one at best buy today and they are pretty neat. I was curious how hard it would be to take a dvd and save it to this. I didn't know if it would have to be reformated or not. I know it plays videos but not sure what format it needs to be in to play.

i have an older version of it the 2820 doesnt have the fancy screen but it is 20gb of storage.

can play most music formats with a simple software download.

    battery life is good.
its a little bulky but not bad

only real complaint i have with mine is that i have to carry a paperclip attached to it because it seems to randomly lock up on me.?

another thing i can do with mine is before i got a usb key you can actually put any type of file on it for storage.

all in all for the price its pretty cool

That looks pretty cool, but I don't see why a mp3 player needs all of those fancy features. I'm content with my overpriced ipod that will only play a few types of audio compression, and I won't forget to mention the horrible battery. I got served by Apple.

I was considering an IPOD, but this seems to be more worth the money. It can play full videos and also display pictures from a digital camera. It also has more memory than the 15gb one i was looking at.

Sony has got an ipod competitor coming out later this summer. Carries something like 13,000 songs and for less than the price of an ipod.

Sony is pulling a BS move on that. It has that many songs at 128k or less. Apple reports it's numbers with 192K AAC (what the iTMS sells). Apple has said that if they used Sony's advertised quality, they would get more songs than Sony.

I've had one of the G2 10 gig iPods for over a year. My battery is fine, and I don't have any problems with it. My Griffin iTrip could sound a little better, but it sounds terrific on anything hard-wired to it.

Sony's new ipod will have to use some stupid special format that only sonys music players use. From what I heard on Screensavers it kinda sucks
