    Looking for a Bach Stradivarius Trumpet . . .

I know this is a wanted to buy thread but it has nothing to do with paintball so I decided to put it here. Anyway. I'm wondering if anyone has a Silver Plated Model 37 Bach Stradivarius Bb Trumpet they might be looking to sell. I'm looking for something with as little dings/scratches as possible but I know nothing is perfect. Let me know if you have one or know someone who does. Thanks a lot.

I have the same Conn trumpet since 3rd grade - it was actually flawless for over a decade, until my sister beat the crap outta it.

I'm trying to learn trumpet myself, I've got a ways to go. I can already play saxophone, clarinet, trombone, baritone, piano, and guitar with saxophone being my main deal. I always want to learn French Horn before I graduate.

Oh and if you haven't already, play as much Jazz music as possible and practice on your improvasational skills. You'll be amazed at how many good paying gigs are availabe to anyone who can play a few licks for an hour or two.

Sure can, my high school's small jazz band has done several gigs for the locals and recieved some very generous donations.

Thanks for the help tMan, I actually browsed eBay before posting here, I just wanted to see if I could find a better deal.

Glad to see there are so many trumpet players/upandcoming players on AO!

Hard part is you have to build your embouchure, and you're ahead of the game if you play baritone/trombone. My fingers and brain remember how to play, however my lips cannot - the muscle is gone... and I can't play for crap. You have to spend a lot of time doing drills and stuff to get that built up. I played French Horn as well - if you don't change keys, it's similar to a trumpet except left handed, and 80% of the fingering is the same roughly. However, there's that thumb lever that lets you change keys - which adds a lot of complication to it.

Heh, I was thinking about doing the same thing. Except car payments got in my way . Ya I march in my High School Marching Band, we won the ACC's basically the biggest comp. on the east coast for TOB. I'm also trying out for the Crossmen Drum Corps next season. Whats your range like? I've hitten Dubba C's but cannot keep em out D's and E's above the staff I can get consisently.

Plus the fact that you have to learn the proper fisting technique when playing the french

                      horn.

Yes I do know where your going with this, but its not really fisting, you actually create a cup with your hand.

Good luck finding the trumpet you want, the two trumpet players in the brass quintet at school that I'm in (I play horn) both own Stadivariouses. They're beautiful. I own a Bach, but just a TR200 that I've had since 3rd grade when I started playing. It's still a wonderfully made instrument.

And whoever said they'd like to learn horn, DO IT. I'm not being biased because I play because I play trombone and trumpet, but I feel that if you're going to learn ANY brass instrument, play horn... it's just like saying if you wanted to learn any woodwind instrument, I'd like oboe or bassoon. They just have a nicest tone and range.

I'm sad I stopped playing trumpet for french horn when I did, I really had some talent and kind of lost some of it switching to horn, but I figure horn is going to carry me better into a career in music.

                          Anyway, good luck.
Why do all pump players seem so poor? You'd think we'd save some money on paint, but it seems like everything I save I just spend on more crap I don't need...

horn sounds alright... but I hate that instrument . Then again I am a trumpet player so I AM better then everyone else anywho... the TR200 is what I have also, basically a better made OMEGA.
