Finally, Moore is full of crap about the business connections. As CNN already pointed out, Bush Sr. joined the board of a defense company 18 months after the House of Saud sold their interest in it. THat is as close as he came. I guess by his reasoning, Mobil is guilty of the Exxon Valdez spill then?

He didn't need to RUN out. But a decisive statement, calm the crwod, and getting off to somewhere he might actually perform some presidential duties rather than stay at a place he should never have been (he decide to continue the photo op despite previous information given to him about the first plane).

Actually what would make more sense is the Secret Service running in and taking him to safety. It is thier job to make sure he is safe.
At that point they know that America is under attack and the President is in a *public* place, and they just let him sit there. Didnt they think there was a possibility that he may be in danger?

They knew NY was attacked, that is it! Where should they have moved him too? Who knew what was going on? Sometimes you need to step back, assess the situation and then make moves. Scaring a bunch of children would not have helped!

You are right no one knew what was going on...for all they knew terrorists could have planted a small nuclear or chemical device close by. They should have moved the President immediately, they can "assess" the situation in the limo, air force one, etc...but they really need to get the President out of a public place (during a publicized photo op),and on the move. If terrorists could coordinate slamming multiple planes into buildings....isnt it a possibility (even if slight) they could attack the president at a public appearance?

The Secret Service's job is to react. When someone yells "Gun!", they just dont "assess the situation" and discuss the best way to handle a possible "gun" scenario....they jump as fast as they can to protect him. So im going to assume when someone says "America is under attack" that they would want to remove him from a public place as quick as possible.

or maybe they really dont like scaring children...
