    USPS Tracking Blows Goats

I don't understand why the USPS even offers tracking numbers. They don't mean anything. Unlike UPS and Fed Ex you don't have to sign for the package. It's also not typically scanned at my door.

Point in case. Supposedly they delivered a package at 8:45 this morning. The postal trucks don't come anywhere near my house until 3 PM at the earliest. I'm guessing that they scanned it when it went on the truck for delivery, but that's no where near actually being delivered.

    I really don't understand it.

If you are referring to the green labels, those are technically called "delivery confirmation" and are just that. To me its a cheap way of letting the buyer know its on its way and the seller know it arrived.

True, it does not require a sig, but its something. If you want the USPS to get a sig, insure the package. They can't leave an insured package at the door. If no one is there to sign for it, someone has to pick it up.

If all you need is a delivery confirmation, its a lot cheaper than UPS. I have found even FedEx lacks when it comes to the tracking of packages. UPS seems to have it down, but you pay for it.

I think you missed part of my original post. According to their website my package was deleivered at 8:45. This, however, is false as it did not arrive till after 4 pm. I know this because I was home all morning and left for work shortly before 4, yet no package.

What I'm saying is that this service seems to be totally on the whim of the mail carrier and NOT a reliable service.

But yes, I was speaking of delivery confirmation.

You get what you pay for. Delivery confirmation is pennies compared to UPS, FedEx, and DHL, so what can you expect?

This is completely off-topic but a senior wrote "blows goats" after our school name on our high school building before school started last year (so it said "__ high school blows goats"). He wrote it with blue sidewalk chalk (thinking that it would wash off after a rain or 2) but it stained the stone! It was hilarious, it was on there for a long time before they had to blast it off.

Along the same lines, a buddy of mine got married and they decided to decorate his car, as you do when people get married. Well the story was that they "had to get married" if you catch my drift. Anyway his car was red and the hood was prinered in that rust/red color. Someone wrote on the hood, "stop pre-marital sex" along with the just married sentiments. You guessed it. It stained and he had to drive around with that on the car for a bit...
