Never saw the original thread, but as always, studying for a test will always help you pass! Although I did fail that urine test once.....

CONGRATULATIONS! Hey i remember that post!! So what did you have to do?? Did you have to use any of that dry gas like i suggested? I dont know if that works on computer controlled cars, i know it works on carburated cars though. Please tell us what you did!!!

I used some of that dry gas stuff and got some engine cleaner stuff that guarenteed I pass my emisions. I then proceeded to drive around the Capital Beltway (about 80 miles)---TWICE!!!

          What is a emmisions test?

          Dry Gas?

Do you have polution tests or something? (what it sounds like)

Yup, you got it, it test to see how much pollutants come out of your car.

Where do you live? Some states require it others don't (I know Indinia doesn't)

The emmisions test measures the amount of pollutants a car puts out. If it puts out too much you can't register your car and thus you can't drive it.

Dry gas is stuff you put in the gas tank that drys up water in your fuel system and gas tank.

I live in Canada, I don't think we have such a thing here.

Im going through the same thing. I have a 91 plymouth laser and, from what I hear, the valve seals go after 90,000. I took it for an oil change and the guy added some additive that supposedly swells the seals. What else can I do to make sure it passes? Have the link to the original thread?

It looks like he put in two additives one to dry up any water in his gas(dry gas have to find out the name of it), and another additive to help him pass the smog test(I know the colour of the box here but can't think of the name it is in a gray box). Then he drove the car about 160 miles. I think that he went to the test right after but I an not sure?

                              Failure: Here you go http://www.automags.org/forums/showt...threadid=16565

I added some dry gas and a bottle of CRC's Guaranteed To Pass. Good stuff, did the job well.

I drove around the Capital Beltway twice which is about 160 miles. The trick is going fast because the faster you go the more carbon you burn. The posted speed limit is 55. Every one goes at least 65, even big semi-trucks. I then went right to get my emmissions inspected.

PowderdToastMan:It's different from state to state. In Virginia if you fail then you have one month to fix it up to a certain dollar amount. Unless your mechanic can confirm that it is burning oil. Then its an automatic failure. Without passing your emmissions you cannot re-register your car. If you don't register, then you don't get the little sticker that goes on your license plate. Then you get pulled over and written a ticket and/or the state takes your car.

But each state's requirements are different.
