I've worked with my fair share of small blocks, and promise you, 300 horses is not an out of the box number. Secondly, the 454 could only produce the supposed 450 hp when paired with the right parts and with high octane fuel(100+)...something you can't really get today without knowing some people. Hardly stock. Yea, the Ford engines are generally smaller...but who cares. Look at Honda. They can get over 100 HP per liter. For a 454 to get power like that, it would have to make close to 800 hp. Wow, some bragging rights.

Face it dude, Ford may not lead the race of engine size....because they only care about winning the races that require drivers.

    1. GM small blocks will make over 300 hp stock (the new GTO)
    2. 454 can make waaay more than 400 hp (read super chevy, they did a 1000 hp rat motor)
    3. The parts arn't that hard to get, ever herd of summet racing?
    4. honda engines... *yawn* you'll spend waaay more cash making HP out of a honda then you will out of a SB chevy

face it dude.... you dont know jack.

Dude, don't you know that all you have to do to make a Honda put out massive amounts of HP is put a big ol' coffee can exhaust tip on it, and maybe a giant spoiler and some stickers?

but also i remeber reading in hot rod magazine that they took a 95 mustange i think with a 302 in it to make over 1000 hp on pump gas.

it really doesnt matter what kind of engine you have it is who is working on the engine.

Im going to swap a V8 into my Datsun and there are reasons that the Chevy is done more. Lots of 350's everywhere in junk cars, or crate engines are super cheap(GM GoodWrench $1200), its easy to put together, and parts for them are plentiful and cheap also.

Also, I didn't know power and Honda could be used synominously in a sentence
