If you really want to pick from the list above I would suggest the Mazda3. I would pick the sports wagon but I found my cousins to be waaaay too cramped (from a passengers standpoint). If you don't mind me suggesting a car not on your list, I would highly recommend looking into an '05 Nissan Altima. I own one myself and can't say enough about it. Very good gas mileage, awesome acceleration, very comfortable and roomy, and the car is a flipping storage bin; there's so much storage space I don't know what to do with all of it! In fact, with the rear seats folded down, I was able to fit a 6'x4' folding table in the back with plenty of room left over for my gear. Altimas also lease out very well so I don't know if you're really set on all out buying a car or leasing (I prefer leasing because I have the option of looking at new cars at the end of the lease as opposed to trying to sell the car that I've bought). Anyway. The choice is yours, so what it really comes down to are the test drives and what you can afford. Good luck on your decision!

I'm really planning on sticking to the list.

Trucks have poor gas mileage and if you get one that has lots of interior space then you have a pathetic bed which seems to defeat the purpose of a truck.

The Altima: I test drove one and it is nice, but the driver's side door is too close to the driver's seat for me. I keep banging my arm on the door. I figure if I'm going mid size I'll go with the Camry.
