    Fella's,
What is there to do in Las Vegas? About 10 guys from working are going down there this weekend to do our '05 FFL draft. Need some advice from locals, I've never been...

Welll... not that Im an expert or anything....but, I rember hearing pretty disinctly, Casino wise, to stay off the strip and go were the locals go, like a places on Bolder Highway, etc, I cant rember the name of the joint the rents were hitting but they generally had a great time and were doing decent all week long...

Uhhh.... the wonders of buffets, LV is a buffet lovers dream, so bring them fat pants.... Saheera(SP) had a kick arse breakfast/brunch buffet if I remember correctly, and Bolder Station was just...ummmmm.....*salivates*

Sam's Town on Boulder highway has an unbelievable breakfast buffet, if you are a pastry guy.

Bellagio and Aladdin have great buffets, I've heard Paris's is good, but I've never been.

I really dig the "dueling Piano" show, 8:00pm every night at New York New York

Don't play any blackjack table that pays only 6:5 for blackjack. hold out for the full 3:2.

Bellagio's dancing waters are real pretty, and it's a short show that repeats itself REALLY often, with different music each time. take the 10 minutes to see this once.

Dinner at the Stratosphere in their rotating resturaunt is really nice. 1000 feet up, and spinning slowly the whole time. this is the ONLY good thing about the stratosphere.

        gambling is better downtown.

Ron Lucas is a good show if your not into lots of cursing (at the Rio), Amazing Jonathan is a good show if you are into lots of cursing. (I think he's at the Riviara now.)

never pay $100 to see french clowns.

There is a monorail open now that will take you up the entire east side of the Strip, clear to the Hilton. If you are a trekkie there is a star-trek themed area there. I'm a geek, I like it, and I'm not ashamed to admit it. (ok, I am ashamed.)

        NYNY's rollercoaster blows

The sahara's rollercoaster is a lot of fun, but VERY short.

You can get lost in the MGM Grand if your not careful.

Ceasars has a bar called "shadows", where nekkid ladies dance behind curtains while you drink overpriced drinks. Not bad if you like nekkid ladies, but don't want to shell out the full strip-club money.

The better strip clubs are farther from the strip.

you can fire full-auto weapons at The Gun Store (www.thegunstore.com). This is fun, even if they do have the feeling of a tourist-trap about them.

i have seen the amazing jonathan and trust me, he is amazing. i would pay whatever he charges to see him again.

food: the thing to remember is value. its not nearly as cheap as old timers make it out to be, however, it is full of value. the buffets are not 2 dollars, but the 10-15 buck price gets you more food than you can imagine and its usually great. if you eat at the hotel you stay in you can put it all on your room key and just have to pay one bill when you leave.

vegas is great, and if you have the time, you need to go to hoover dam. that place will just blow you away.
