AO: We are back from the dead... again! After an 18 day outage, we are finally alive and well. Who knew how complicated updating software/databases from 2008 would be. I still have alot of tweaks to make, but my main goal was getting everything patched and updated to 2026.
Vbulletin 6 has changed alot since 2008 so we will have a ton of new features to dig into.
Too true. I'll probably start another safety thread debate, but BIG is not necessarily safe.
And as far as the Mini being a go-kart, no way. I owned a '76 Austin mini. Now THAT was a go-kart. It was also more comfortable with 4 peopel than the new 'Minis'.
I also survived a crash at 110kph in it. :) The car, however, was a complete write-off.

Well, they know how to market to Canadians.
Under cargo space, the pictures are of the car trunk empty, carrying golf bags, full of beer, and carrying a hockey equipment bag.
Go to admit the golf bag shot doen't help quell the golf cart jokes.....
Cool and interesting. Unfortunately I see no Air Bags. And no US outlets. So I suspect its not an EPA and DOT importable car for the USA. Sad.... I would buy one.
AGD, where we are so good we can do it with only ONE tube!

They've got airbags. Look in the safety section. And they are going to be selling in the US in 2006.
But, the US model will be a modified version of the SMART forfour model.
To see all their models, go to www.smart.com and select international (or you can select US to see their plans).
When I have to replace our current small car, a GEO metro 3-door hatchback, I'll be looking at the Chevy AVEO/Suzuki Swift, Toyota Echo Hatchback (a derivative of the European Yaros, not available in the US), or maybe one of the SMARTs. The four seater cars are probably more likely however and the sporty version of the Toyota really interests me. It's also more likely that the others will be available at reasonable secondhand rates by then.
Over here the Smart Cars are every where! To me they look like a little box on wheels, the interior seems kinda cheap, and they are too slow for me.
The mini on the other hands is perfect for me. To each there own I guess.
The smart cars do come in a gasoline engine version that is actually a little quicker than the diesel version. And you are correct Slarty the get absolutely excellent gas mileage. I think that is why they sell so well over here considering the Germans pay around 1.10 Euro per liter for gas.

I looked at the safety section and didn't see it... But hey thats cool. I buying one when they do. Just to commute around town and all. Thanks for the heads up! Would rather have the 2 seater though.

Here's a thread a started a while ago on it, it has some pretty good info on it. I'm jealous though, I wish I could order one right now
Also, as for being over here, when I was looking to buy one I registered on their website. You can request a dealership near you to give you a call. It was an Audi dealership that called me, so I don't know whether it was just a used MINI or what.
