For when you want to carry it around?

It's unfortunate that the SMART is a direct inject common rail. Difficult to convert to run on veggie oil.

Guess I'd have to start brewing Biodiesel at home.

Yea for towing it around and stuff....

You could run it on blend. Or Bio for sure. But at 75 mpg who cares eh? ....

Towing?!? Phfft! It'll fit inside no problem.
Could maybe even put it on a roof rack.

Just because. Why use dead animal residue pumped from the ground (with all the political nastiness it entails) when you can put grease and old french fry oil to use.

        Dumb Biodiesel conundrums:

1 - Can a vegitarian ride on a bus that uses biodiesel made with animal fat?
2 - Do jews have to wait for the kosher bus?

But back to the Mini. Nice car, but as I owned an original it just doesn't seem right. It really is quite huge, just not very tall. It's the same foot print as a VW Golf really.

From a technical perspective, some of the mechanicals seem a little suspect and the engine isn't a BMW powerplant.

Not having that kind of money for a toy, I wouldn't buy one. If I did, I'd pay more and go for a Mazda RX-8. Or if looking for a practical car, a Mazda6 Sport Wagon.

I love this bit from the SMART website:

Well it does not have to be that way. It could be all bean/veggy oil. So we could over come that issue.

I wonder if you can pick up the same amount of chicks with a cooper as you could with the smart though

HAHA if u ever go to like france, or italy those smart car things are all over the place over there. The only way i could see one being an advantage to have is if u live in a big city and never have to leave the city.

They are all over here in Germany too! They are actually quite annoying on the autobahn as they only can get up to about 130kph.

True those Smart Cars aren't that quick on the top end of things but then around town they are stupidly quick and they just are so light a strong wind and it would be over. At least when you want a different colour you just order up the new panels and replace them..They now have a Smart4 but I wouldn't wish to own one of those either. Plus for me the steering wheel is on the wrong side as you can't get them in right hand drive. I had a Mini many years ago rotten as a pear on the sills and the chassis was twisted so if I stamped on the brakes it crabbed along the road. They are great fun though the real Mini's not the badged BMW town car. Also the BMW is huge compared to a Real Mini.

I have to ask. I went to your gallery and you say there are some changes etc...why does it have Polish plates if it came from NZ?
Please for the sake of sanity lose those naff boy racer wing mirrors, chrome bullet ones would be way nicer. Whilst I do understand that cars are a personal thing especially with old models but why did you replace the steering wheel the one fitted wasn't the original but the wood Mondo style one isn't either. You already have the arch kits fitted so spacers and minilite alloys and you would be set (doubt you will get original minilites but copies are sold)
