Is NCAA 2005 worth buying a console for?

Yesterday I played NCAA 2005 for the first time. I liked playing it. Alot. I loved the option. The problem is that I'm an avid PC gamer. most games are better on PC and they are held to a higher standard. I'm pretty much a PC fanboy

But, I find myself wanting this game. And for some reason its not out on PC.

So I went through EB Games and looked at the console games. The only ones that interested me (that aren't coming out on PC) are as follows: Resident Evil (GC), Metal Gear Solid (PS2), and HALO 2 (Xbox). Of these only MGS would be worth it. I cannot stand First Person Shooters on the consoles.

So, is NCAA 2005 worth me going out and purchasing a PS2 or Xbox (HALO 2 might be worth it)?

P.S. Right now all I have is a 19 inch computer moniter that I can watch TV on too. I guess I'd have to get a RF switch ore something, right?

Yes, the game is awesome. I like NCAA better then the Madden series. More teams, school pride....you know. They have a cool thing in the game where your controller shakes depending on how rowdy the crowd is.

I don't see much of a difference between 2004 and 2005. I know the fans get into the game more but is there anything else?

Get the XBOX. Get a LIVE account. You can get a VGA adapter for your xbox if you must hook it up to that monitor. Otherwise, go splurg on a proper HDTV and the the Xbox HDAV box. Got a 5.1 audio system? If not that's probably more important then HD support.

Asside from Halo2, you should pick up Riddick, and keep a look out for MechAssault 2. It's hard to say what you will like, but some other top notch games would be Top Spin Tennis, Links Golf, Project Gothem Racing 2... that's a nice lil sports group of course the recomendations assume you have LIVE. LIVE LIVE LIVE.

Hello LIVE support. That's a HUGE difference. Notice sales of the game are up some 40 percent in the first week. LIVE support is why.

You should defeinitely get a system for this game! NCAA College Football is the series to get in on. My buddies and I are hopelessly addicted to this game and each year we fiend for it like sugar coated crack. Regardless, 2005 is a lot different (and better) than it's predecessors (which is usually the case with this title). Let me know if you want to buy a system, I have a nearly brand new PS2 that's been played like five times. My roommate has a PS2 so I've never really needed to use mine. I can sell it to ya for a really good price. PM me if you're interested.

Naw. Its like the saying "Its not braggin if you can do it." PC games > Consoles. Except for driving games (even then, I could go out and get a nice steering wheel).

Hmmm... I still have dial-up (for now hopefully). And I'm asking about whether or not a Xbox or PS2 would be worth it. Do you really think I can "splurge" on something like a HD TV. I don't even have cable....

I've actually played Riddick. It was fun, but I'd never buy it. I'd rent it a couple times though.
MechAssault 2 is the grandson of the PC game "MechAssualt." Good game, might be worth looking into.

I've yet to see anything particularly great about LIVE. PC gamers have had online multiplayer for years. Its fun until the cheaters come (see Counter-Strike). And, I don't have broadband.

But that's what is great about Live. You can't get hacks or cheats. In addition, the fact that everyone has a microphone is great.
Have Xbox Live? Check out LiveGamers.net (We're oh so lonely on the forums there)

Yea, I'm sure that Microsoft made a product that was unhackable Just give it time. One day you'll be playing HALO or something and you'll swear that you shot that guy three times in the head....

And the ability to speak in online games has been around for three or four years.

has anyone played Ninja Gaiden? Looks interesting...
