How long before a savings bond reaches full value?

How many years does it take for a savings bond to reach full value? Would like to know if I should cash some in or wait a few more years.

    30 years for EE.

    Interest Earning Life

Series EE bonds earn interest for 30 years. This long life lets investors use savings bonds for truly long-term goals like education and retirement.

They earn interest for thirty years, but reach face value sooner based on the interest rate earned when issued.

Use this calculator to find your bonds worth.
