Messed up MO?

Is this MO still valid? Id like to know before I ship him my gun. The part thats scribbled out isnt really important, but I dont want an trouble at the bank.

if they dont cash that your out that money

if he needed it fast maybe he shouldnt have jacked it all up

its only the adde but scribbles are not good on money documents

Yea i just dont want to get down it and them say its a no go. Even if its only the adde, its a 900 dollar document, you just dont scribble **** on them.

I would have to say yes, because the MO number is still there, the price is, your sig, who it's too and their sig. The adde shouldn't make a diff. Everything can still be seen. Just my own opinion.

Just call the bank and ask them, "If the adress has been scribbled out and changed on my money order, can I still cash it?". Thats what I would do.

If he messed it up, he should have just had the person who gave it to him print out another one and shred the f'ed up one. That makes him look like a total

I would expect Deadeye to be an expert on this.

That being said, he's not getting the marker if you ship it today, and waiting until Monday will not cost him a weekend of play. I would wait until Monday, verify the thing is still good, and then send it. It does not keep the marker out of his hands any longer, maybe part of a day but nothing in the scheme of things. Impatience (yours or the other persons) is a big part of many scams, not saying this is just a note.

In order for him to have made that valid, he should have signed his initials next to each scribbled out section of the address.

This is common practice in documents of this sort. Typically, only if the numbered total or the portion where you spell out the total are areas where an initialed signature would be required to make it valid.

As everyone else said, call the bank and see what they say and make sure that if it doesn't go through, this kid is honest enough that he'd have you send back the old one and take it in to have it replaced.
