    Miscue! One More Audio Question...

    Will this sub:
    http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_107.html

    Work well with this amp?

The reason I ask is because the amp is 2 or 4ohm operation and the sub is 3 or 6ohm operation.

This may be a very 'noob' question but I just want to make sure that it will or will not work.

    Thanks,
    -Patrick

I've never seen that before. I think it's so you can run three of them in series, and then you can use 2-ohms. There's probably more to it than that, but I don't have an answer for you. Google time!

That's correct. It was done originally by JL audio so you can safely run odd numbers of speakers.Thier 12W6 were designed to fit in such a small air space(at the time) that you could usually put 3 in the space of 2 'normal' subs. It's not an uncommon option nowdays.

Overall, don't sweat the difference between an ohm here or there in car audio,it's not enough to hurt anything. If you want to be safe, always have your speakers at a higher ohm than the Amp is rated for and you won't be able to hurt anything.

Just wire the sub for 3 ohms and your amp will send your sub about 600 watts so you should be fine.
