Yup. Puerto Rico simply out played the USA. With as diverse as the NBA has become over the last 6 to 7 years, the rest of the world has just about caught up. The "me first" and fast break, slam dunk style that the USA NBA'ers play isn't going to cut it against other professional teams that play a team game. Just look at the 2002 World Championships for an example ... I mean ... the USA actually had to qualify to play in the Olympics.Originally posted by BolterUSA lost at Basketball to a South American team. By 20ish points. What happened?
or did I read that wrong?
I think the USA NBA talent is still the cream of the crop, but the team just isn't going to be competitive when we're merely sending the 3rd best or 4th best players from any NBA roster - AI being the obvious exception.
We should've just sent the whole Pistons team.Comment
