    garden state

just saw this movie tonight.. and i must say that i was impressed. zach braff did a terrific job writing, directing, and starring in the film. some very cool cinematography, and it provides some thought provoking ideas on the topics of family/home/love. oh yeah, and it was pretty freaking funny too. go out and see this movie.

Another movie about jersey, ehh. Does Natalie Portman look hot in it? If so, then I really gotta go see it.

let me just say this.. if natalie portman was president, shed be baberaham lincoln. as for the plot, zach braff comes home to new jersey for his moms funeral and sees old friends, reconnects with his dad, etc.

Seeing Natalie Portman in wet panties and bra is worth the price of admission alone.
The rest of the movie is well written, funny, and original.

I really wanna see it. Unluckily for my no theatres around here are showing it. I'll have to wait until the DVD. It looks really good. The trailer kind of depresses me...brings on those thoughts on what I really want to do with my life, which I don't know.

me being the rebel I am I went to see it tonight and thought I would resurrect this thread.
I thought it was a good movie, and like somebody said before was alot about life lessons and had a very good soundtrack IMO. Def. one of thoses movies almost worth the $9 I paid.

OK is it just me or did the title have a double meaning? I mean like yeah the whole state thing, but it kinda sounds like something else to me. I was thinking something like you know, people that are in comas are called vegetables, vegetables grow in gardens, he was on that drug that made him not feel anything... sorta vegeating, just kinda being there, like a garden... Anyone else get that? I did at least, guess it's open to interpretation.

I can follow what you mean and what you're saying but I did not feel that. This movie can go deep into your life and has many lessons behind it, and I probably didn't catch them all and you probably didn't catch them all. Great Movie none the less, I recommend it to everybody.

Darn straight thats an awesome soundtrack. I LOVE Frou Frou and The Postal Service(which had an acoustic version of "Such Great Heights" in the film). I went out to buy it today at Best buy and they didnt have it, hmmm.

Anyway, Im in a movie review community for livejournal.com and here's part of the review I posted:

...so I found myself tonight watching "Garden State" with Gabe and Paul. This movie, hands down, is the best one out right now. Forget you're Alien Vs. Predator, your Open Water, your Without a Paddle, this is the flick to see. Such perfect portrayal of one's struggle within himself and his enviroment to cope with the difficulties of even our rawest emotions. Graff gets my pat-on-the-back any day of the week with work such as this. His depiction of the whole "falling in love" ordeal is spotless, not a flaw to see...
