We should have just one complete team go. I mean if we have lets say the bucks go they could of torn those pieces together. They know how to work together.

you are correct, it is a fact that most of the players have 1-2 seasons playing at the highest level of basketball in the entire world. so i can see how stepping down a rung would throw them off.

You can't take a bunch of random street punks who are so full of themselves they have to personalize the headrests in their escalades and expect them to beat a team who trains together with the sole purpose of beating the US.

To us, it's a nothing event when the team goes, to the PR team, it's a chance to get laid every day for the rest of their lives just by saying "yeah, I played in the olympics"

This is what happens after you become complacent in your superiority. The Dream Team of the earlier Olympics did so well, that all the NBA guys figure any six of them can whip any other country's squad. So only the third-string bothers to go. But a lot of other countries have NBA-calibre players, now, and a few of them leading a hardworking team makes for tough competition.

Canada has the same problem with the World Cup of Hockey every year... the first thirty guys asked to play all say "no thanks", and the ones who do go have to struggle for a medal against pro-players from Europe, led by legitmate NHL stars.

What, in your opinion, makes American NBA basketball the highest level in the entire world?

1: The lack of team play
2: The lack of good passing
3: the lack of good mid-range shooting
4: the lack of good defense
5: the perponderance of egos and money

Our players may run the fastest and jump the highest, but this isn't a jumping and running contest, it's a basketball game.

There are a few players who have a spark of what great basketball was, but today's game is little more then streetball rolled with a dunking contest. Our olympic team needs to stop trying to posterize some guy from a third-world nation, and worry about the pick and roll, the give and go, and learning to pass the damn ball.
