Cant get into AO chat room

I cant seem to get into it. It just shows a blank screen, with a little box in the left hand corner that contains a red square, a green circle, and a blue triangle. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Ive tried reading the Chat FAQs, but there doesnt seem to be any thing that is relevant to my situation

Perhaps you don't have Java?

I tried that, and it still shows that little box with the shapes in it. It used to work, but hasnt for the last couple of months
