My Gosh.. I think I'm gonna blow KROQ in SoCal up..

    K. They announced their "fall" concert line up and my goodness are they some oldies. With bands like: Devo, Billy Idol, Morrisey, Tears for Fears, Flock of Seagulls, & Siouxsie, plus some others. I mean come on. Most of these groups I heard when I was 10 (13 years ago). Now keep in mind this is for a radio station that plays, Korn, Beastie Boys, Tool, Staind, Linkin Park, White Zombie, etc. Well me thinks it's time to put them out of their misery and ours. *goes looking for the plastic explosives*

So let me get this straight, you are mad because KROQ announced some concerts that you don't wanna go to.

My gosh, terrible. Where's the FCC? Someone needs to give them a ring ring!

It's actually one "Big" concert. They were hyping it up and then they said the names. Not really mad, just upset due to the fact most of the BANDS are not even Rock anymore.

Before Korn, Staind, and White Zombie, there were The Cure, Depeche Mode, and other great 80's bands being played. Before that, I think it was a talk show radio. Personally, bands from the mid-90's and back were better than todays bands. For the past few years, I've been disappointed by todays bands and music. I've been listening to KROQ since the early 90's and saw the change in the type of music that they play.

KROQ pretty much bites anyways, unfortunatly there arent any REAL rock stations in So Cal anymore. They all went soft (yes, even X and KCAL). The last one I can remember was Chaos, which was just some guy broadcasting illegally. Anyways, thats why we have portable music media, so we don't have to listen to simple minded DJ's and the same pointless "music" over and over.

That sounds like a pretty cool concert to me.

How about you put away your teeniebopper hat for a minute?

And how is something "not rock anymore"?

Is Led Zeppelin not rock anymore because they are old and don't tour anymore? Pink Floyd? Cream?

PS - My 4000th post is a flame, wooo.

why would you want to see Korn, Beastie Boys, Tool, Staind, Linkin Park, White Zombie, etc. (you should know tool isnt touring, i dont think rob zombie is either, and the rest just suck in my opinion so im not going comment on them lol) instead of tears for fears?

personally my only favorite new band that i like is velvet revolver, but whatever.

TSK! TSK! TSK!! When did RD become such an angry man?!?! I would love to check out that concert if I could. Granted, I was never a big Devo fan, but all the others were good. It's almost like a revival of some sort. Just the other day, I heard on the radio station "Rebel Yell" by Billy Idol...good stuff man!

As much as I like some of the newer bands, there's still a nice place in my heart for the bands that I grew up with. Be happy they didn't include Men at Work cause I liked them too! LOL!!

Damn... I must be OLD. I just went and saw Chicago and Earth, Wind and Fire play together. They probably aren't even music anymore!

                    Real rock bands have horns!

And how is something "not rock anymore"? The rock genre has changed. Most of these bands are now considered Classic Rock, which is not the "rock" that KROQ plays today, except in the FlashBack Lunch.

Is Led Zeppelin not rock anymore because they are old and don't tour anymore? Pink Floyd? Cream? They are classic rock. Not ROCK rock. The bands mentioned before were alternative in their day. That day has sense passed and now they are old alternative.

Don't get me wrong. The bands are decent but nothing I'd pay money to go see. In fact I've considered going to the Ministry w/ My Life With A Thrill Kill Kult concert in Anaheim in Sept. Like I said. Most of these bands I heard when I was 10. I'd pull out the old cassette deck if I wanted to listen to them. . I'm suprised the Cranberries weren't included.

Example of old rock. Motley Crue. They can rock but aren't exactly like the rock of today. AC/DC, I might let slide cause they can rock the stage even now. Anyhow. For those that seem to be taking this WAY too serious, it's more of me letting off steam and complaining about a line up that I thought for the most part had died.
