Rumor has it that Thursday is breaking up.This really gets me mad b/c they are my favorite band and I haven't gotten a chance to see them live. Some say they are just taking a big break, or are done completely. I really hope they don't break up. I will be supporting their new album when it comes out completely.

Supposedly they are just taking a break.Last edited by MayAMonkeyBeYourPinata; 08-17-2004, 03:54 PM.Love Will Tear Us Apart -
Geoff himself said it was likely that the band wont be staying together much longer. On top of the fact that he said they are starting to suffer live, he is having serious health problems. I'd be willing to bet the band stays together for a year longer at most.
I'm a fairly big Thursday fan myself, but this doesn't worry me too much. They released some great CDs and managed to somehow maintain their integrity after hitting it big (to an extent). IMO, they had a good run, and atleast they are calling it quits before the band starts to go downhill.Converge KillsComment

Well this sucks. One of the only two good emo bands in existence may be breaking up.
So are they releasing a new album or something?Comment

I think they are relasing one more, until they do whatever they're going to do. It probably won't be anywhere near Full Collapse which IMO is by far their best CD out.Originally posted by -=Squid=-Well this sucks. One of the only two good emo bands in existence may be breaking up.

Why be angry? It sucks, but I never understood ppl that moan over bands breaking up. All good things come to an end. It's better they break up than stay together releasing the same cd over and over.Comment

If they do break up, I will be glad that I saw them in concert twice.
Full Collapse is an amazing album, War all the Time is good aswell, its a different sound, but nonetheless impressiveLove Will Tear Us ApartComment

Ha, you know which CD was my favorite? Waiting. It sounds so much more like the true emo of the 80's and the 90's. I also love the fact that it's so unpolished and raw, gives it a much more personable feel. That being said, Full Collapse was excellent though. It's just that at that point they incorporated some elements of today's poppier emo in addition to some indie rock. All together though, their full lengths have all been solid.
Hey guys, as sad as this is, they already reached their peak. I doubt anything too extraordinary would have come from them at this point(lets face it, War All the Time was probably their weakest point). They are breaking up at the right time.
Oh well, emo is dead at this point. This is going to be more of a turning point in the genre than when At the Drive In broke up.Converge KillsComment
