Shopping 4 Digital Cameras - Need Advice

ok by the time i'm done selling some stuff i'll have close to $500
I've been looking at the Sony DSC-F717 for quite some time now and it seems like one of those dream cameras if you have the memory. But i'm up for suggestions.
For $550 is the Sony DSC-F717 a good buy? If not what other options do i have?

After owning two Sony Digicams I came to one conclusion. Stick with a company that knows how to make a camera and optics. That being said, it's not a bad camera. I would look at the Canon G5.
