    3d Models/Wireframes (For Gibby)

Hey, just wanted to post some better renders of some of the stuff I've done for Gibby to see. Haven't had time to get my website up and running but that will be hear soon. Most of this stuff, i.e. the ships, and building are going in this short that my production team is working on and that's nearing completion, just 1 more scene to finish!!! So I'll be sure to post it once it's shot and hopefully have some screen shots up tomarrow.

Very nice work indeed. I really like that rendered scene. You definitely have some modeling skills and I would love to see the stuff you're working on now for your project. Keep it up, put all your work in a presentable portoflio and I'm sure you'll find a good job once you're done. Let me know if you need help finding a job when you're done with school. I could probably refer you to a few recruiters and I'm sure they'll find a placement for you.

I'd refer you to my work place but things aren't the same anymore.

    Keep it up man!!!

Thanks again for the input. Yeah, I'm working on getting everything together in my portfolio at the moment and get it up online. I should be able to get some screen shots of that fly through up in a bit. Heading off to meet with our art director/instructor for that project in a bit so I'll try and grab some stuff to show.

I graduate on December 17th I believe, so about 4.5 months or so. Seems like it's only gonna be in a couple weeks with how fast things are moving. I tried to get some screen shots of our fly through but the computers were being wierd and not letting us render in Maya for some reason so my instructor is going to grab some off his home computer for me tonight so I should have some tomarrow.

Thanks for the compliment man. That's what happens when you render a model with just a flat grey texture with global illumination on.

Speaking of that what do you guys look for as far as rendered models go gibby? I see most people render shots of their models with just a skylight in the scene and nothing else, much like I did with these ones but is it better to use basic 3 point lighting? I've been told to just use a skylight since you can hide modeling flaws with the way you light it and you can't really hide anything with just a skylight. Hope that question makes sense.

Alright guys, finally got some screen shots of our short that we've been working on. These are from the first 2 scenes. They may seem a bit blury but that's since they're from actual animation and the camera movement plus motion blur equals a bit of fuzziness to still shots but when you watch it it's fine.
