Need some help thinking of a word, need AO dictionary!

I was trying to think today of the word specifically for making something out of molten metal. Smelt is not the right word, that has something to do with combining ores or something. Forging is heating something with a furnace and then hammering it out again. Casting is pretty close, but it could be used with things like plaster and all. Is there a word for casting with metal?

Well, the engine block of my car is cast, the lead miniature figures I paint are cast, some of my cheaper tools are cast..

I'd say "cast" is the very word you want.

Typically "cast" is followed by the material name: "cast aluminum" if you want to be really specific...

Or cast iron like a cast iron skillet.
