No def don't keep on pulling, there's prob something down the line that's preventing it from starting. You'll also need to charge the gloigniter (glo plug heater) if it's brand new.

    Things to check for:
-Primed engine? If it has a primer bulb/button, push it until fuel reaches the carb, then 2-3 more times.
    -Charge your gloigniter.
-Check if your plug is good, or if your gloigniter is giving enough juice by pulling it out and plugging it in. It should glow bright orange, almost white hot.
    -Clean air filter
-No kinks in the fuel line
-Carb set correctly (See your manual) Adjustments should be 1/8 - 1/12 turn at most! The carbs on these things are pretty sensitive and a full turn would put you from one extreme to another.

    Starting:
    -Prime engine (see above)
    -Plug gloigniter onto gloplug
-Tug quick short stoke on the recoil starter, being careful not to over extend

If eerything is right, your engine should start in a few tugs, or at least sputter and try to run. If it sputters but dies, you can tug it a little more. If nothing still, check the idle mixture if its too rich or lean and try again.

also remember to follow breakin instructions too, they are very important to so you dont damage your engine.

If you got it with fuel already in the tank, you can be pretty sure that it's absorbed a lot of water by now. Dump that crap and flush out any in the engine with fresh fuel, then try again. Also a "starter box" works wonders if you want to get rid of that recoil, plus it will save you weight, but it won't get rid of your underlying problems.
Like Snert said, glo plugs and the associated batteries are usually the problem if it's not the fuel. They don't last too long.

Actually, where is Chittenango? I could just come out and help you tune the thing if its anywhere near me. I'll be up in Albany starting the 27th..

did you follow the breakin instructions?

your supposed to run the motor through 2 tanks of fuel or so at an idle for break in.
if not you could seriously damage the piston and sleve.
