    Movies that dont suck

i have a few expressions to make when it comes to movies. for some reason, i feel the need to list the three greatest movies ever made, which will never be surpassed in any way ever.

3rd place- Fargo- you cant beat william h. macy in this one. he is briallant and is the only crime/mystery movie that should exist. id say more about this one but i must progress......

2nd place- Magnolia- and unbeleivable movie that will leave your eyes pryed open for the entire film. you will droll with amazement as you are sucked into the lives of 9 people. this movie made me dizzy with intense emotion as it wound down at the end. there is no word in any language that can describe the feeling you get from this movie

1st place- Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas- oh...my...god the single greatest movie that could ever be made ever. but, i will say this- its not just a good movie because they are on drugs the entire time... im not some druggy who is like "its a good movie becuase there is lots of drugs". this is not to say, however, that those drugs play a significant role in the mood of the movie.
With that out of the way, i will rave. this movie is the absolute best acting ever by johnny depp. Benencio Del Toro plays his best ever as well. everything from the camera angles, camera movement, and music is perfect . it is all absolutely divine. the thing that really shines though is the dialogue. i could rave for 12 days on how amazing every word is... how perfect it is. ive seen the movie 5 times and i am still enthralled. the very existance of this movie is the perfect definition of genious. the talent of the director, actors, and everyone who made this movie is godly.

what do you think.... give your 3 favs and reasons
Yummy yummy yummy, I've got fun in my tummy.

This is to hard to decide, I always have to catagorize things in "favorites list" cause theres to many choices for my favorites list.

I'm not saying these are the "three greatest movies ever made", but this is my list of my FOUR favorite crime movies.

CRIME: 1. "Usual Suspects"- great twists, very clever, very well put together.
    2. "Goodfellas"- THE best mafia movie, even former mafia guys say this movie has it
all over the Godfather for accurately portraying mob life.
    3. "Carlito's Way"- this movie's often overlooked by the cheesefest known as Scarface,
but its a far better film. Carlito is interesting because he is basically Pacino's Tony
Montana character from "Scarface" if he had lived to become older and wiser. Unlike
"Scarface", wich seems very dated when you watch it now, "Carlito's Way" always
seems fresh even though the story takes place in the 70's.
    4. "Resevoir Dogs"- I still think its his best, but I love all Tarrintino movies, and its still
his grittiest crime movie. Must see movie. Like the others, this movie is so original,
well acted, and well put together that it will always seem up to date.

theres a ton of other good crime movies but these are the four I compare all the others to.

Oceans 11 I guess can be considered a great crime movie, the old one and new, since there is so much thought recquired to follow them, plus the great cast. I'm more into comedy so I don't watch to much else.

Rashoman and Ran. Akira Kirowsawa. Like Braveheart? Kirowsawa directs amazing, large scale feudal japanese battles, lots of long duels between characters, and has bad-*** female heroes.

The Usual Suspects. Quite good, I attended a film class that brought in a minister to anaylze Kaiser Soze in terms of biblical/satanic references. Spacey is awesome in this.

SW: The Empire Strikes Back. I am your father. Nuff said. O.K. fine, you get incest, an amazing puppet, and carbonite deep freeze too.

EP3: yeah right. I really hope I like this, but well, we'll see.
God....I guess I was probably returning videotapes.

This is a tough thing to chronicle really. Here are some of the movies I think rock, and I put them as my "best" for many reasons. It's not about how many awards they won, to me it's based upon how entertaining they are, how cool they are, and how much rewatchability they possess.

            The Way of The Gun
            Last Man Standing
            Starship Troopers
            The Program
            Any Given Sunday
            Clerks
            Tombstone
            Bad Boys II

This is all based on how much I enjoyed watching them, and not on any tangible production values, meaning, or anything else they might get awards for...in no particular order...

Starship Troopers (how can a movie with such inane dialog, poor acting, and rudimentary plot be so good?)
                  Kill Bill volumes 1 & 2
Lock, Stock, And Two Smoking Barrels
                  Boondock Saints
                  Bringing Out The Dead
                  Falling Down
                  Apocalypse Now Redux
                  The ShawShank Redemption
                  Fargo
                  Saving Private Ryan
                  Donnie Darko
"I would like nothing more than to walk around
wearing a shirt with a giant arrow pointing
downwards, but I have this strange feeling
that most people would take it as some kind
of sexual suggestion rather than an attempt
                  to infer one's final destination."
