    I hate stupid drivers!

Ok here's the deal. I'm at a gas station, and I'm going to pull out left. But there's cars packed up tight because of traffic, and I can't see the traffic coming on the other side of the road. So a guy comes on the side of the road that is packed up, and stoped before the exit, looked around because he can see the traffic coming. He waves me on. I hesitate because .. what if he's an idiot. Then he waves some more, so I decide I'll trust him and go. Well it turns out the guys a moron. There's a nice big truck coming, and as I turn out, we definatiley collide.

Cop said he completely understands my story, it happens all the time and .. to a certain extent.. wasn't my fault. He told me alot of accidents happen because of people stoping and waving people on. He also told me though, that the insurance company would probably screw me over because the guy who waved me on is a cowardly bastard and drove off. Luckily he did though, because I have a short temper, and last time I got in an accident I assaulted the person who caused it (I was cut off). Before I was 18, so nothing happened. I woulda been screwed over this time. So I'd rather just pay the bill than have a perminate record. BLeh though, hopefully my insurance won't be too much now.. ><

ouch. good luck with the insurance. I live in south florida, so basicaly ALL drivers are over 80 and drive no faster than 20 mph except when they are running red lights trying to hit me or *best yet* going the wrong way down a three lane highway trying to kill me! (US-1 incase youre wonderin). been lucky enough to not hit anything yet but my friends havent been so lucky

Just about the exact same thing happened to me except I was the one cut off. Someone waced the person into Dunkin Doughnuts and i was in the the lane to go right at the light and they cut me off to go into DD and i T-boned them. It was found to be all their fault and i got a large insurance settlement. I felt bad because all they did was listen to someone that waved them through, but that wasnt going to get my car fixed.

I don't mean this as a flame or anything but I think this accident is totally your fault. If you can't see if traffic is coming or not, you shouldn't be pulling out there. It's not that big of a deal to wait 10 more seconds until you can see what's coming.
