    mother board and case compatability

    i have a dell dimensions computer, that i have upgraded quite a bit. i want to get a new case, but i am not sure how to tell if my mother board will work with the case listed below.

    do any of yall know? and is this a good case?

    would the way the dells are arranged fit into that case? i thought they made them backwards so you had to send them in to upgrade them.

      Dells, at least the older ones that I've seen, use a non-standard, all in one connector for the power/reset/etc connections to the motherboard. So the motherboard should fit in the case, assuming you have an ATX motherboard. The question would be if you can hook up the power/reset/etc switch wiring to the Dell motherboard. Also, you might have to move your Dell powersupply over to the new case.

        a case that size shouldn't have any trouble fitting nearly any standard form factor motherboard, the only question is whether or not Dell put in a standard form board. (I can't say for sure, some are standard, some are not...)

        I'd say buy the case from a place with a very easy return policy, like Fry's Electronics, in case it doesn't fit.
