phil, you can also check ozforex.com for exchange rates too.

i think that the exchange rate goes onto what the local exchange rate (for the person recieving the money, their local exchange rates), so, it may actually differ more than what me or jason sent you on a daily basis. from ozforex, I got 15.18.

Nah. When it looks like it came from a monopoly game, it's not real!

I have paid people in England with PayPal it was easy. If I remeber correctly I just entered the payment amount in dollars. There was no complaint and I got the goods so I wouldn't worry too much.

Unfortunatly it's not a good time to buy things from England or any country that uses the Euro.

The US dollar is in horrible shape. I just came back from Scottland and Ireland and the exchange rates are nuts.

It used to be $1.50 per british pound and now it around $1.85. Ouch!

The US dollar against the Euro has done even worse. 2 years ago: $.75 per Euro 2 weeks ago: $1.25 per Euro

Yah, the exchange places really stick it to you. They sell at $1.99 and buy at $1.70.

I always use big bank cash machines because they give you the real going rate.

Well depends... the stuff I am buying is rather expensive little bits here in the US. None of its made here and often out of stock. There is tons of it in England so its not so expensive to get there. So what I do it look for something that I can do better on even with the exchange rate. In this case I got about $25 worth of stuff (what it would cost me here in US) for just under $16 shipped to me from England. So small gain and I know the guy has em... Rarely works out that way but with Vespa and Lambretta parts it can sometimes.
