It scares me when people vote to keep someone out of office rather than to get someone in, but go for it: it's your vote.

You didn't miss anything--it was unadulterated fluff. I know it's a fake news show, but I still expected more from Jon Stewart.

I'll be eligible to vote!! bah...

Yeah, I was mildly disapointed in Stewart's non-performance. *shrugs* Guess he didn't wanna push his buttons too much.

What's even scarier are the people that vote straight party without considering the other candidates OR that was jut the way they are told by their parents.

I think they're on the same level, but good point.

Also Im voting bush just because John Kerry hasnt told us what hes gonna do to the war in Iraq. If we pull out their is just gonna be total chaos. ( the US will be blamed for )

My prediction: ignorance sparking controversy sparking flamefest sparking close. At least learn how to spell the man's last name if you're going to hammer him...

Sure he has. Internationalize security, establish and train native forces, stabilize the area, and then get the hell out. It's more or less the same as Bush's plan.

We need to bring in NATO and other nations to share the cost and burdens. Right now, the United States is shouldering the lions share of this effort. Ninety percent of all coalition forces and nearly ninety percent of coalition coffins are draped with American flags. The American taxpayers are also paying the vast share of the cost of this war.

We also need to massively improve and accelerate our training of Iraqi police and security forces so they can defend their own country; and we need ensure that there is far greater security to provide the credible elections in 2005 critical to advance Iraq’s transition to stable, representative democracy.

You're referring to a piece of proposed legislation, the Universal National Service Act of 2003 (HR 163 and S 89). The president does not propose legislation--that's the job of Congress.

It would be far more accurate, then, to say that "a handful of congressmen are trying to reinstate the draft," but even this would be overlooking the true intent behind the bills.
