Yay! I might be a ref!

    Hello all,
Good news! Since I am a regular at DFW Adventure Park, and I am pretty good friends with some of the management there, I have a very good shot at having a chance to ref on Sundays! I insisted that I do it for free. Heck, it is the least I can do - for the sport I love.
I thought this would give me the opportunity to help out all the "newbies", because that is something that I like to do. Maybe I could get free AIR also....
So, in conclusion - If any of you plan on playing at DFW Adventure Park anytime soon, keep an eye out for me -

I bet after your first day reffing you won't be wanting to do it for free anymore. It's fun, but I wouldn't do it for free. Too much work where I ref and then people nag and complain over dumb things sometimes too. Its fun but it has its downsides also. Its fun getting to work and meet new fellow paintballers, but you'll want something in return for getting up in the early morning and reffing until late afternoon (like I do).

            Lol @ Turbo.
I can understand that. My pay will be the fun time the new kids experience. What makes me want to do this so bad, is to give everyone a fair chance. Today we played a game of speedball, and one of the kids that has been playing for awhile(5 - 6 years) and is also a ref there jumps in mid game. Well, to make a story short - I eliminate 2 people, and rush him. He makes a run to the very end "V" obstacle, and I unload on him - hitting him in his Ball Hauler(Pack) and 2 times in the mask. Well, one of his teammates shoots me from the side, after I shot that guy out. Since he was friends with the refs, they counted me out, and let him stay in(They did not say anything to him at all!). Well, I shrugged it off, because I played fairly well today -
Conclusion, I want to give everyone a fair chance.

where i ref you would have to be insane to want to do it for free. All private groups, 1/2 of em are drunk cause' the owner wont do anything about it, cuase he just wants to make money. 3/4 of the time they cant speak english and on top of that, they never listen =(

                Good luck Arman.

I just started reffing at my local field and I love it.

It will make your game better. I like to do both the reserve games and the open semis.

You learn a lot more in the open semis. You get to see hot top end markers in action and watch how players use them.

You get to introduce new players in the reserve and give them a good time, making sure that they come back and make the sport grow.

                Have fun!

I hate reffing anything but tournys. On an average rec day most of the newbies want to play in the woods on 20min games. They say " We wanna play capture the flag " but after 20min everyone still has a full hopper and nobody is near the flag. Its too boring. Not worth the poison ivy and mosquitoes. (sp?)

But, tournies are another thing. Urban and arenaball are the thing to ref!

Does it smell like updog in here to you?
