Even if you had the whole IP it would still show up as comcast. Usually, the only times you can get a name/addy is if the IP is owned by a company or something(or if they have a domain pointing to it, you can whois the domain).

i was trying to find out who the heck was writing profanity on my site and i couldnt find out who it was. The site meter thing blanked out the last digits in the ip, was hoping someone on ao had super duper computer skills and could figure it out. Well i find out who it was and i'm dealing with that person right now

the program the records all the ip adresses blanks out the last couple numbers. grrrrr i h8 technology. i found out who it is but if you guys can still get a name or adress you still win

I live in Mount Laurel, Bishops Gate is less then a minutes walk from my house.

Its a business district that houses Cendant Mortgage and Okidata.

Any web program should log the whole source IP address. The last octet is probably being dropped by Xanga when it displays to protect users. The above indicates that the poster has to register and if you report them their account can be locked.
