    Sprint Wireless

Anyone use Sprint as their cell phone carrier? How is the service? Do you get many droppee calls or dead zones?

I suppose it really depends on where you are. I've had reasonably good service with sprint. Every now and then the network might be busy, just retry your call. I also get a few dropped calls but that's usually because of talking in elevators.....

        Mike -

I use Sprint, and I love it. In NJ, as long as I have a single bar (which I always have) I get crystal clear calls. I have never had any dropped calls, and I can't remember having any crappy-quality calls in NJ either.

I've used the phone in NYC with no problems as well, even in the tunnels.

I used the phone a lot at IAO, and hit no dead zones.

I hit some dead zones in upstate NY and Vermont, and some digital roaming areas, but it was a pretty rural area.

I have MUCH better luck locally with Sprint than I had with Verizon when I had them. I used to get dropped calls and static quite often with them, and none now.

          still do...

          absolutely hate them...

dropped calls all the time. patchy service...

sometimes, even when I'm in good service, a caller is sent straight to my voicemail- my phone wont even ring...

there's no static, instead, the signal just cuts out and drops the call.

Get either Verizon, ATT or Cingular.

I just switched to Sprint from AT&T. So far the difference is night and day. AT&T used to give me crappy service. Sprint works just about everywhere I've been. Like Thordic said, even with one bar I get crystal clear calls. So far in the week I've had it 0 dropped calls and no fuzzy calls. It works in areas that AT&T wished it would of worked. Overall I'm happier with sprint then I ever was with AT&T. That and I got a better plan for pretty much what I paid at AT&T with Sprint. So far it has worked in every building I've been in.

I guess it depends on where you live, but IMO, for NJ, you can't beat Sprint.

my brother had sprint for a while in chicago area. getting dropped while taking to him was a normal thing you planned on. he was normally in no service. it was horrible. he ended his sprint adventures by throwing his phone out the window.(literally)

That's odd, I've never had any problems with them in College Station. The only time I had any problems was when I was in the depths of the MSC.
