i may be extremely stupid, but why not deionized water? i dunno much aboout the workings of computers, but if you are worried about conductivity, if you used a mixed bed deionizer the conductivity is less than .05 microsiemens. the money you save on getting the water could go toward buying a condenser. if you need one. i dunno how hot a computer gets

deionized water doesn't stay nonconductive for long once you start adding foreign parts (like your motherboard), and a powered circuit certainly couldn't help either.
Just dipping a finger in it would lower it's resistence.

yea, I'm not doing this in some sort of clean room. I'm doing this in my dorm between classes. The mobo, and all those little toys that get hot will be submerged in a plastic rubbermade footlocker on a special panel. I am using a small pond pump to circulate coolant from the tank to a special reservoir in a cooler with dry ice and then directly onto my CPU and GPU.

It will be the most ghetto thing since that mag with the 2 litre coke bottle loader, but it will look neat and it will perform(well, as well as a 486 can perform).

On a similar thing, I am working on a neat water cooler for my gaming rig that uses an air-conditioning unit to cool a reservoir of water to almost freezing(I've already tested that aspect of it.) It should look tight too because I'm getting two empty Zalman reserators to use reservoirs.

No louder than my room is now. Since I will have 3 less computer fans running, I guess it will be that much quieter. The AC thing syphons cold air into a cooler with dry ice that covers a pair of aluminum heat exchangers from Advanced autoparts. I was thinking of just getting the cheapest window AC unit I could from K-mart, taking off the crap I don't need, and then making a giant case for all of this to fit in, and as cool as it would be, it'd also be really expensive....or just more effort than I need. Nevertheless, It's gonna look neat too. I'm putting two blacklights over the pool and if the chemicals let me, I'm adding green UV dye. it's gonna knock everyone over with awsomeness.

Hahah, as much fun as Fluinert would be....I would feel bad about pouring $1000 worth of liquid on a computer I got for $75 at a thrift store

Well I dunno about the Apple one... dunno what it costs that is.... but I did notice they claimed to use only 6 or 6 1/2 ounces or so of it... So it would matter what kind of closed system you used.
