                City of Heroes has a monthly fee but other than that its a pretty fun game(he didn't want a game with a monthly fee), so I think that ones out. KOTOR, Morrowind, going outside, or seeing lots of movies are the only real choices left IMO.

                    Strategy games? Either Real-Time, or turn-based.

                    Warcraft3 is a very popular RTS game. The "Total War" stuff is good, too as a mix of turn basedstratefy and real-time tactics. There is a Japanese setting (Shogun) and a European one (Medieval).

                    A good & free turn-based game you can download is "Combat Mission", which is WW2 based. You give all your orders, and then watch the game unfold in one-minute increments. You can change your angle of view, and zoom down to individual squads and vehicles.

                        Dude, all I got to say is: Emulators

                        With a ps2 and SNES emulator you're set. Once you discover final fantasy tatics you will never be bored again. Beware, you social life may suffer.
