I hated that car, but yeah, it sucks. Is it just me or was your rear window down? I take it your stereo and such is fried too. Will the insurance cover that? I think this is just natures way of telling you to by GM. Well... at least the tires can still be salvaged.

my car could smoke both of your cars eagle!!! specially that POS sunfire. stereo has to be fried, but i have no way of trying it out at the moment....not sure if insurance will cover that or my bass tube/amp. i think if it is attatched, they might cover it, so that covers my stereo and amp, but not bass tube.....but i only payed like 60 for the tube.

Was this in shocko(sp?) bottom? It looks like its near bottoms up and is it true that bottoms up may be condemned because I was told it had 8 feet of water in like 30 minutes.

Yeah, Bottoms Up there, as for its condition, not sure, I'm currently stationed out of state. Alot of other bars and some tobacco wharehouses there. And yeah, it could have smoked the Sunfire, but not the Grand Am. But you still didn't answer the question, weren't the windows open?

yeah, the pic with the car up on the railing is in front of bottoms up. it wouldn't surprise me if they condem it, the walk in frige on the back of the building was dislodged completely from the building.

You do realize that they detuned Neon RTs after the first batch because 0-20 (I think those were the speeds I recall seeing) they were able to beat the VIPER off the line right? I'll grant once the Viper got into its powerband, it blew the thing away, but thats how much of a performer these were. I don't like Chryslers, I dont like Neons, but the RTs were something special.

lohman, where did you find that info on the R/t's, i'm trying to find productions numbers for the '98 r/t (my friend has one) and its the only one he's ever seen.

My brother in law designs computers for Ford - and obviously has friends who work in other places. basically his coutnerpart at Chrysler was discussing this issue with him one day about stupid things they have had to do for whatever reason, and the Neon RT issue came up

The Neon R/T is turbocharged or supercharged right? If so, and it has a small turbo, it would beat a viper off the line due to the size of the car, but after the viper got a good grip on the road it would not only beat, but RAPE the neon. There was really no need for them to be detuned.

Here's a pic of my car after a small flood we had here in Hawaii. After I found out the insurance company was going to total it, I started her up and red-lined it. It shot water out of the exhaust pipe about 30 feet!

Well my neon is in the second gen, 1st gen=94 through 99. they didn't make an RT in 2000 when the 2nd generation started. 2001 which is the year you see above is when they started back up. The neon's with racing stripes are from the first gen or are a custom job. The second gen neons don't have racing stripes.

Furthermore, they DO NOT come with turbo or super chargers, you are thinking of the neon SRT-4 that came out middle of last year, new for 04. Those are turbo'd and have round 230 at the wheels. These things are monsters!!!! They will eat a stock mustang GT all the way down the 1/4 mile. My neon i believe stock was putting down 150 horses at the wheels. It was very quick, i just wish i knew monday was the last time i was going to drive it, i would have done some real crazy stuff.....fast and furious style in that mug yo!
