    Charges against Kobe Bryant dropped!

Well the Laker fans are kinda celebrating in the streets with this news. I wonder if she really got raped or if she was putting on a story to get money. Just curious on what AO thinks.

          No so fast boys...

"Although I truly believe this encounter between us was consensual, I recognize now that she did not and does not view this incident the same way I did," Bryant said. "I now understand how she feels that she did not consent to this encounter."

That my friends is an extracted admission of guilt. If "you" think it was consensual but you "Know" or "realise" she did not then YOU are guilty of Sexual misconduct. YOU MUST KNOW THAT NO MEANS NO!!!!! Most likely this statement was agreed to by both parties... or why would he make that statement? Its incriminating in itself.

I suspect there is a settlement here. And if he truely felt she consented then THAT he would not and should not ever say. He knows he did it and he most likely came to a settlement with her. Thats my take on it. Read between the lines. He could only say that if the ink was on the papers or he would be admitting guilt. She extracted that admission as best she could.

Yeah i was guite confused by that statement. Especially since the prosectution would have never won the case in court. I have been following this case from day one. The prosectution jumped the gun on filing charges on Kobe before getting back all the evidence. The evidence would have clearly killed all chances for the prosectuion to win. Especially coming from such a respected Dr. (he examined JFK after his death.) I beleive this was a misunderstanding. Kobe bryant does not need to rape any woman. He can find a woman in any city in America willing to jump into the sac in a second with him. Just my opinion tho.

Sports Illustrated reported that the Kobe statement specifically said that no monetary settlement had been made.

Also, if the prosecution was halfway decent and the judge wasn't a complete moron they could have had a chance of winning. Think about it. They had way more evidence the Tyson's prosecuters did.

No maybe not but there is a deal between the girls lawyers and Kobe's. It means maybe no money has changed hands YET. but it probably does include some link to the civil action later. Watch that get settled real quickly. She indeed extracted a sort of confession. And I would not conclude there was no evidence. I think everyone knows the court system screwed up by publishing her name and letting evidence become public that should not have. I suspect the deal to drop it did not involve the prosecutors office. It was hashed out seperately between the two parties. And if Kobe says what he says he is admitting guilt. But he is doing so after all parties had agreed not to ever bring the charges up again for prosecution. Otherwise he would have not done so. In his own words he was guilty of sexual misconduct. And he admits it. And he will most likely pay off on the civil case from some already agreed upon private deal. Justice may not be served but at least it was not bought cheaply.
