AO: We are back from the dead... again! After an 18 day outage, we are finally alive and well. Who knew how complicated updating software/databases from 2008 would be. I still have alot of tweaks to make, but my main goal was getting everything patched and updated to 2026.
Vbulletin 6 has changed alot since 2008 so we will have a ton of new features to dig into.
my first time....(56k intensive...stay out if u dont wanna wait an hour)
Anyone else have problems with airlocks blowing off the primary fermenter ? Only really happens when I'm brewing wheat beers with a fruit addative.
When you are brewing something with a very vigorous primary fermentation you often need to use a blow off tube instead of a bubbler lock.
Put a tube (you can use your siphon tube) into the rubber stopper and have the other end in a half full pot of water.
This lets huge amounts of CO2 escape along with any yeast and such while still not allowing air to go back up the tube. You will need to change the water in the pot as it will get nasty.
