                    i believe, correct me if im wrong, but the military was looking on how mobile they could make a-bombs, and here u see the big boom boom launchin it, defidently wouldnt wanna be on the recieving end.

                        I believe it's called a Theater tatical nuke. It was designed for massed armor formations that the Soviets used before an attack. I belive it was only .5 kTons which was smaller than the first one dropped. The blast radius would have been only a couple of miles and the shell should have traveled over 20 miles giving you a pretty good margin of "safety".

                        Today they call those guys part of the "special ordinace" teams.

                        How would you have liked to be one of the guys training to load it? You'd understand the theory why it arms itself half way to the target but there still has to be some thoughts going through your head.

                          Yeah! As awesome as that is, I would probably not be there loading the shell into the gun. Just imagine if that shell was made into a size that can fire from a tank, WOW.
