Seriously though, there is no such thing as a 'better' music. That being said, its totally metal. But I do respect a few rappers(aesop rock, kool kieth).

Anything is better than rap (2nd that) and some old school metal bands are really good. New ones are very over the top.

It's hard to judge a whole genre, but generally metal is better than rap. Metal bands have to write and play music as well as come up with lyrics. Many of the big early metal bands were classically-trained musicians. I don't habitually listen to either, but I have had to concede to my metal-loving friends that some of that stuff is amazing, from a technical point of view. Well-written, and well-played, even if it's not my cup of tea.
