How do I get rid of this adware traffic?

For the past week I've had noticable slowdown on my Dial-up. I've had a large influx of advertising.com cookies and a few others, and I can't stop them. I've used Spy Sweeper, SpyBot, and Ad-Aware. All of them remove it from my PC, but it always comes back. I've put up zone alarm, and that hasn't helped either. It's slowed down so much that I can't play Counter-Strike at all since I get these huge lag spikes.

Try Spybot S&D, and don't look at so much pr0n

And not everybody can get broadband, so saying "get cable" dosn't help :/

I haven't had the best results with Spybot, personally. I currently use Ad-aware and it seems to get rid of 99.9% of adware and spyware.

          Reformat your hard drive then...

Its always to reformat every once in a while, as I've rrecently discovered, you'll be amazed at how fast your computer was once able to go. Plus you can get rid of all of those other things that are slowing down your harddrive.

I have saved quite a few computers with Spybot Search & Destroy. Go to cnet.com and search for spybot. You will be amazed at what it finds.

use ad-aware its the best and its free . U might want to check in add and remove programs sometimes there are spyware programs that ad-aware cant get out and u have to remove them manually

Power hath descended forth from Thy hand
So feet may swiftly carry out Thy commands.
We will flow a river forth to Thee

I wouldn't count on Spybot being your solution...

I've had spyware since I last reformated that I CANNOT get rid of. (And I've used just about EVERYTHING.)

Try a program called hijackthis. It will scan your computer to see what is running. There is a tech fourm out there that helps, but the resident nerdshave been quiet lately.

                    Use at your own risk.

Yeah, more and more none of the utilities work. Spybot, Adaware, Spy Sweeper, Pest Patrol - doesn't solve the problem. What I do is make images of machines with fresh Windows installs and software put in, store data on different drive. Doesn't take much time to restore the system back to a pristine condition.
